Trusting Your Intuition: How to Recognize and Act on Your Inner Guidance

Writer's picture: Kim WilliamsKim Williams

Your intuition is like an inner GPS, guiding you toward choices and actions that align with your highest good. Learning to trust it can transform your decision-making and life experiences.

When I consciously decided to work with my intuition it was like a lightbulb switched on - I had been working with it at times and resisting the call to go all in. It was funny because I could do it from a corporate sense but using it for me just felt wrong at the time.

There was a time in which I had literally fallen to the bottom of a big dark yucky emotional and physical hole and I had to start trusting the vibes for myself and began realising that it all starts with me - if I don't trust it for myself then how do I trust it so much when working with other.

My career into this space started when I did my Cert 3 and 4 in Personal Training - call it a bridging phase if you like but it was needed for me to hone my skills even more as an intuitive advisor. I worked with female clients who would come to me not just for the physical workout but for the safe space I provided as they navigated their own life changes. A client walking into my space but being so tapped out emotionally didn't need me smashing her on weights or cardio - this is when a 15 minute walk on the treadmill while she talked and I listened working miracles. After the walking (energetic shift) came the strategy to move forward.

That is how we were able to take the time to link her in with intuition and clear the old.

Here are some tips to start working with yours:

  • Walk or dance it out: Stagnant energy makes it hard for us to notice the nudges.

  • Pause and listen: Before making a decision, take a moment to tune into your feelings. What does your gut say?

  • Notice patterns: Intuition often speaks through recurring thoughts, signs, or feelings. Pay attention to these nudges.

  • Practice with small choices: Start by trusting your intuition on minor decisions, like which book to read or what to eat.

  • Journal your insights: Write down intuitive feelings or ideas and track how they align with your experiences over time.

Trusting your intuition takes practice, but the more you lean into it, the stronger and clearer it becomes. Follow those inner whispers—they’re your soul’s way of leading you.

Your intuition will find a way to communicate with you whether it be by goosebumps, hot or cold hands or feet or even just a yuck feeling in your tummy - this is all ways you receive nudges sweets.

Noting them down when you get them helps to strengthen your belief muscle in your abilities.

Slow the pace and notice the nudges sweets.

With light xx
